Our view is that investment advice should:

 

  • be logical and understandable
  • be supported by rigorous analysis and proven methodologies
  • make use of in-house models so that every aspect of advice can be explained
  • measure and control investment risk
  • be untainted by product commission levels
  • minimise taxation
  • control costs by considering the rationale for any management charges that exceed minimum levels

 

We also believe that our advice should offer value for money for our clients.  In practice, the depth of advice we provide means that most of our clients control considerable assets.

 

Investment advice can often be little more than a futile attempt to pick winners.  In our opinion, such activity is more akin to gambling than investing.  We do not believe that the significant costs these activities entail represent value for money for investors.
